Asus aiguru sv1 reviewed by Skype Club Russia. It looks a bit like a babyfoon, but then with online and global video...

Me, myself and I have not been so lucky yet to receive a sample for www.skype-gadgets.com.... hence I cannot tell you what this skype standalone video phone can do. But it looks cool (from a distance) although I would rather go for an Asus EEE PC or simular instead of buying this expensive device called Asus AiGuru SV1...

My take is that this device is too expensive, and you can never penetrate the market currently with such a price policy. There is a lot of webcams out there and since skype is free for download people might go for a computer with an affordable webcam... But this kind of concept has potential, except the price must go down otherwise nobody will buy it. $300 is really too much.

It would be cool to see this type of technology see inside phones, and having the Ipevo standalone phone it would certainly great to receive an upgrade so I can attach something on the USB port on the back (like a webcam)...

Until I get something real to test read this "The screen is great, the icons are ginormous, and operation couldn't be much simpler. Unfortunately, the video quality is pretty inexcusable for a dedicated box like this: the VGA image is crap, and the framerate is totally weak -- it could've been a problem with the network we were on" source : ASUS AiGuru SV1 Skype videophone hands-on - Engadget

No sample, No hands on report by www.skype-gadgets.com but Skype Club Russia has got one (yeah drool, drool I know). Time to learn Russian... or use a Google Translator.

Where can you buy one of these? I've looked all over with no success.
