Is Paypal as a secure as a chocolate teapot? And where does it affect Skype ?
I can see it before me in the corporate PR hallways of eBay / Paypal "Who said that ?" We have put a stop to these rumors... But are these just google news or worse blog rumors and what is really going.
While PayPal Unwraps 2008 Holiday Promotions you will also see message such as Paypal - about as a secure as a chocolate teapot? and security issues such as PayPal accounts compromised over 16 months; No response from eBay.
All these problems also affect Skype. Just read an article in the Industry Standard: "It
appears that there is a recurring billing issue in the integration
between Skype and PayPal and we are actively working to fix it. PayPal
protects all of our customers against unauthorized charges to their
accounts so they are not responsible for any fraudulent charges. If
PayPal customers feel that they have received unauthorized Skype
charges to their PayPal accounts, they can initiate an unauthorized
transaction claim from within PayPal.com by visiting our Security
Center and clicking on the "Start an unauthorized transaction claim"
link." Find more on the Paypal Skype Fraud.

I like it.
I don't like it.

I hope that this is not the case as Paypal is one of the most commonly used forms of secure payment online. If it is a problem, it needs to be cleared up quickly before anyone's sensitive information can be disclosed.
